Michael Wraa's Bio

Sunday July 26, 2015
Kokomo Jackrabbits v. Hannibal Cavemen
Clemens Field - Hannibal, Missouri
At 20 years old, Michael has a resume that would rival any sports official. Michael began officiating baseball when he was 11 years old, when a car accident took away his ability to play baseball. Michael spent four years umpiring at various levels of Little League. When Michael was 15, he founded YUA as a place where leagues could not only get the finest umpires around but where umpires could work without the politics found in many umpire associations. Five years later YUA is still going strong and continues to grow. Michael has worked at various levels from Little League up to Summer Collegiate (CCL) and Independent Professional Baseball (Pacific Association).
During the summer of 2015, Michael was hired to umpire in the highly respected Prospect League. The Prospect League is one of the most respected collegiate summer leagues, located in the Midwestern United States and is comprised of mainly current NCAA DI and DII baseball players. Michael's most memorable experience was working the plate in Terre Haute, Indiana on August 1, 2015 between the Terre Haute Rex (#1 Team in West) and the Chillicothe Paints (#1 Team in the East). A great game between the top two teams where a full nine inning game lasted only 1 hour and 59 minutes. Don't belive us? Check the box score out below!
Michael was born in San Mateo, California where he currently resides.
