Erick was born and raised in Elk Grove, Ca. He attended Monterey Trail High School. Passionate about umpiring from a young age, Erick quickly worked his way up the ranks in baseball. Erick graduated from the Jim Evans Academy of Professional Umpiring in 2010,  and also graduated from The Umpire School in Vero Beach, Florida in 2014. When not on the diamond Erick enjoys playing golf and officiating high school football, and spending as much time as he can with his girlfriend of three years.
